Just wondered if anyone has any experience of giving away free products to newspapers/magazines for them to offer as prizes to their readership.

I have just launched a range of bespoke poetry gifts and thought it could be a cheap and effective way of gaining some free promotion. Not really sure how to approach it though - would a press release work? Or should I just contact the marketing editor?

Any ideas or advice would be hugely appreciated
