Thank you for the feedback regarding jimconnolly.com

Believe it or not, the primary problem with my site is that people simply
cannot believe that everything's for free! As you may have noticed, the
guides and answers provided on the site are the kind usually only
available for a subscription.

The reason the site has been so successful with UK SME's (according to
our research), is that it is not based on the 'typical' American-import
approach to marketing - as advocated by the recent crop of "internet
marketing gurus".

One of the most common problems UK SME's come to me with, (I have
just over 105,000 subscribers), is when they try a sales or marketing
approach that was designed for the American market; where attitudes to
sales, marketing and business are massively different.

For example:
Every few weeks or so, a UK business owner will write to me for help
after wasting hundreds or thousands of pounds – having been told by
their online marketing guru to pack their mail shots with pages and pages
of material. This American marketing technique comes from the 1980's.
HOWEVER in the UK in 2007, with so many businesses extremely
sensitive about the environment and all things green - it can really
damage your credibility to waste so much paper.
That's just one example - there are many.

So, I decided to provide a free resource that UK businesses could use to
achieve superb results - based exclusively on what works here.
Ironically, the site and my newsletter are used by people in over 50
countries - with America my biggest international market!

You may have also noticed the site has no adverts (other than a single ad
for my own CD Box Set.) I genuinely want to get everything to as
many people as possible for free.
That’s why everyone is welcome to
not only listen to or read by material – but use it on your own website
with my blessing!
The only proviso here is that you do not edit the
material in any way and all the links work.

Once again, thanks for the warm welcome. Also, thanks to those of you
who have PM’ed me and emailed me through my website.

To your success,

Jim Connolly

What's more helpful than learning about business from businessman?
We organise business presentations, where brand and agency marketers can learn about and discuss hot marketing issues of the day, as well as share knowledge and identify new, innovative solutions.

Hi there - does anyone know of a good person to speak to re. SEO/ online marketing? I have looked at ShoeMoney tools or something like that and it made a lot of sense, but it would be good for a more comprehensive summary.

Any ideas, please do post them!!
