Submitting to web directories is a vital part of every successful link building strategy. There are still several web directories that are still worth getting in, as long as you generally follow the guidelines from the posters above. I wouldn't take notice of whether a link is a nofollow or not as Google do not take any notice of it now to stop webmasters from page rank sculpting.

The above post is not entirely true, Google do still take notice of the 'no follow attribute'. It will still be seen as a no follow link and bring you no benefit as far as pagerank etc is concerned. It is the way Pagerank flows through the site that the 'no follow link ' is on which has changed to as you say stop pagerank sculpting.

The only benefit of a 'no follow' link to you is direct traffic from the site the link is placed on.
