Hi there I just want to ask what's the best strategy to get my site to the top in google. No matter how i add articles and bookmark it, it's still on number 5. I cant get it to the top. Any advice?

yes, I'm afraid bookmarking and articles are only a very small part in the ranking algorithm - you'd need to do some more research into quality back links from high authority websites. That's the difference in moving up. Also, be aware that the amount of work between each ranking number on a serp increases dramatically. i.e. don't think that just to move from number 5 to number 4 you need to do the same as you did to move from number 6 to number 5 - it'll be about double that. And so on...

Content and backlinks are the most important things to concentrate on.

If you want to be number 1...take a look at number 1 and see what they are doing differently...

Also consider the fact that to knock them off number 1, not only must you match their efforts, you need to do that little bit more too!

You have to basically target on 3 things top be number 1.
-Contents
Fresh and quality contents.
-Backlinks
Backlinks from high quality sites.
-Keywords
Use keywords wisely throughout the site.

You could try joining your local 'thebestof' site [see www.thebestof.co.uk]. I have found that they are extremely good at getting you a mention on the front page of Google - very often No.1. They also pay pay-per-click on your behalf. Tends to work well on a local level rather than national or regional, but this depends on the business category. Worked for me anyway.
